Eggs Aren’t Bad for You

Little egg white lies

Someday maybe the nutrition “experts” will finally get it through their thick heads that eggs aren’t bad for you (though I won’t hold my breath waiting for that day to arrive).

First, “they” told us not to eat eggs at all because some nimrod decided that cholesterol is bad for us and eggs are relatively high in cholesterol.

Then they figured out that maybe eggs weren’t so bad after all, but rather than own up to their mistake, they told us to limit our egg intake to one a day, still way too low and just plain silly, but at least they were making progress.
But not too long after that, they got worried that people would start ignoring their bipolar “guidelines,” so they “clarified” them by going full circle and telling us once again that cholesterol is evil.

Of course, they knew if they took away our eggs again, they’d have a major revolt on their hands, so they “let” us have our one egg a day but warned us that doing so would mean that we’d have to keep an extra-careful eye on our cholesterol levels.

Ignore all of this drivel, and eat all the eggs you want. Eggs are an excellent source of high quality protein and 13 essential vitamins and minerals, including lutein. Lutein is an important vitamin in the fight against macular degeneration, a leading cause of blindness in those over 65.
