Where do you find fluoride-free toothpaste?

Q:

Where do you find fluoride-free toothpaste?

Dr. Douglass, you say to brush with fluoride-free toothpaste, but I can’t seem to find any anywhere. What would you recommend?

A: It’s true – most of your typical grocery stores or Wal-marts don’t carry fluoride-free toothpaste because they wouldn’t make any money on it.

Most people are so brainwashed into thinking that fluoride will save their life that they wouldn’t dream of getting a tube of toothpaste that didn’t contain the chemical. You obviously know better.

In my opinion, the best way to take care of your teeth and gums is to take some 3 percent hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, mix them into a paste, and then rub it onto your gums three times a day.

If you’re determined to purchase an actually tube of toothpaste, you’ll probably need to go to a health food store. Most health food stores will carry a number of brands that don’t include fluoride, like Toms of Maine, for example.
